Meghan Irons

Meghan E. Irons covers social justice and race for the Boston Globe and was a City Hall Bureau chief for the paper. Her body of work in her nearly 17 years at the Globe includes stories in which race, class, and culture intersect. Her recent work includes breaking news coverage of gender equity issues in the Boston Fire Department, a retrospective on Martin Luther King Jr.'s time in Boston in the 1950s, and serving on the award winning team that produced the "68 Blocks" series which explored life in a troubled Boston neighborhood. Most recently,  Irons was a lead reporter on the Globe's exemplary series "The Valedictorians Project.
